AUSTRIAN WOOD CONSTRUCTION

Modern timber construction is booming in the Nordics. The interest of investors, developers, construction companies, engineering and architectural firms is increasing rapidly.

In Denmark and Sweden, the first large-scale projects are on their way. Our Austria Showcase “Austrian Wood Construction in Denmark and Southern Sweden” on March 8th and 9th in Denmark built on this trend and offered 15 representatives of Austrian companies the possibility to present their ground-breaking timber construction technologies.

On the first day, Advantage Austria Copenhagen and Advantage Austria Stockholm gathered more than 40 interested representatives from Denmark and Sweden in a trendy location in the old slaughterhouse district of Copenhagen. There, engineers, contractors and architects exchanged ideas with Austrian suppliers of timber construction solutions in presentations and discussions.

On the second day, the group visited three timber construction projects of Austrian companies in Odense, Denmark's third largest city. An administrative centre for 1.600 employees consisting of seven buildings (Lerchesgade), the new headquarter for two robotics companies (Cobot Hub) and the new museum dedicated to the Danish national poet Hans Christian Andersen (HC Andersen Hus) impressively demonstrated how diverse the applications of modern timber construction can be. We are convinced, that many companies found inspiration in the expertise and experience of Austrian companies.
