Beko US Earns 2023 Energy Star Sustained Excellence Award

Committed to offering the industry’s healthiest, most sustainable kitchen and home appliances, Beko Home Appliances has become the only appliance brand to receive top energy-efficiency honors from the EPA and DOE during each of the seven years it has operated in the U.S. The fast-growing global brand with a presence in 400 million homes serving 135 countries received the Energy Star Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence Award for prioritizing efficiency, wellness and sustainability for the fifth consecutive year following two years of best-in-class recognition as Partner of the Year. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S.

Department of Energy (DOE) announced the award to recognize Beko’s continued superior leadership and contributions to the Energy Star initiative. The Sustained Excellence Award represents the highest Energy Star honor. The program recognizes a distinguished group of businesses and organizations that have made outstanding contributions in the transition to a clean energy economy. Energy Star award winners lead their industries in the production, sale and adoption of energy-efficient products, homes, buildings, services and strategies.

These efforts are essential to fighting the climate crisis, protecting public health and creating a clean energy future for everyone. “Beko’s proven track record as the world’s most sustainable appliance brand in the world is evident not just in our products and partnerships but in the way we prioritize sustainability in every part of our business,” said Justin Reinke, vice president of marketing at Beko Home Appliance. “This latest honor is more proof of our global commitment to making the idea of a healthier life on a healthier planet a reality for all.”

Last year, the brand unveiled its Beko Healthy Kitchen, an industry-first resource of products, people and partnerships that explores the kitchen as the intersection of personal and planetary health in the American home. Key to this initiative in 2023 is the launch of Beko’s new HarvestFresh refrigerators with proprietary crisper technology that keeps fruits and vegetables fresh for 30 days while preserving essential vitamin content. Accompanying its new line of refrigerators are Beko dishwashers that clean more efficiently using 50% less water and 25% less energy, washing machines made from recycled plastic water bottles and ventless heat pump dryers that are 60% more efficient than their predecessors.

Behind Beko’s product family is a culture committed to exceeding Energy Star, EPA and DOE requirements and setting new standards for carbon-neutral manufacturing, training, energy communications and sustainability at its 30 global production facilities and all other company operations. “As we accelerate historic efforts to address climate change, public-private partnerships will be essential to realizing the scale of our ambition,” said EPA administrator Michael S. Regan. “I applaud this year’s Energy Star award winners for working with EPA to deliver a clean energy future that saves American consumers and businesses money and creates jobs.”
