Epson launches compact flatbed UV printer for promotional products

Epson has introduced an entry-level A4 flatbed UV printer to meet the needs of small businesses in the promotional products industry.

Described by the manufacturer as "very compact and affordable", the SureColor V1000 can print on almost any hard surface, making it suitable for creating promotional and personalized products.

It will suit a variety of businesses, from photography retailers and small goods manufacturers to e-commerce printers and tourist attractions such as theme parks.

The machine can print directly on a wide range of substrates up to 70mm thick, including acrylic, polycarbonate, PVC, aluminium, metal, polyester, foam, styrene, wood and stone.

With an integrated six-color ink system (CMYK plus white and varnish), the SC-V1000 produces extremely accurate and detailed images that can be easily customized.

Epson says the machine measures 699x699mm and fits easily on most standard workbenches and desktops, and because it doesn't require space behind the unit, it can be placed in corners or against a wall.

The machine is equipped with an automatic cleaning system that is activated via a touch screen, eliminating the need for manual maintenance.

Epson said the use of its Replaceable Ink Pack System (RIPS) makes the ink "extremely easy to replace".

The SC-V1000 comes standard with built-in air filtration and odor reduction. It offers USB or Wi-Fi connectivity options and comes with Epson Edge Print RIP software, Epson PORT connectivity and a three-year warranty.

"Epson is delighted to be entering the compact UV sign printing market with the SC-V1000," said Tom Overs, Epson UK Business Manager.

"Designed with the promotional market in mind, this compact and affordable UV LED flatbed sign printer has a number of unique Epson features and is capable of high-quality printing on a variety of media."

Available from Epson resellers from July 2024, the SC-V1000 was shown on the Epson stand at Sign and Digital UK (SDUK) at the NEC, Birmingham.
